Certificate in Appreciative Coaching
This year-long Appreciative Coach training program is made up of three week-long residential, in person training and a weekly teleconference.
The required residential programs are:
Note:The Foundations class is a week-long format that presents the same material as the two half-week introductory programs. While the content is the same the material is presented in an alternative sequence to allow the coach training to be focussed on throughout the week.
Program Sequencing
While these programs are separate and stand alone they do build sequentially on material presented in the introductory classes and taking them in sequence presented is preferred. In planning your continuing education please keep in mind:
The Coaching Competent Leaders can be taken at any time in the sequence.
The Introduction to Appreciative Coaching program requires prior attendance in the Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry program.
The Advanced Coach Training program requires prior participation in either Introduction to Appreciative Coaching or the
Foundations of Appreciative Coaching program.
The Year-long, Weekly Teleconference requires that you have attended at least one of the programs and are committed to working on your
Certificate in Appreciative Coaching.
Appreciative Coach Training
Please see Appreciative Coaching for more information about our appreciative approach to transformational coaching.
This certificate program was formerly titled the Certificate in Clergy Coaching. While maintaining its emphasis on coaching church leaders the title was changed to reflect both the foundational approach to the coaching offered and to not limit the use of the coaching skills that are being taught. In addition to its emphasis on coaching clergy the program also emphasizes coaching for leadership development.
The Certificate in Appreciative Coaching program is part of our Continuing Education for psychologists and counselors. See Continuing Education for details of our approval to sponsor continuing education events for psychologists and counselors.
Who Should Attend Appreciative Coach Training
While primarily oriented toward clergy and those who work with clergy and church leaders, our Certificate in Appreciative Coaching is also open to those who have substantial experience as a Coach or mentor and who can reflect theologically and psychologically on their coaching and are interested in using their spiritual resources and understanding in their coaching.
In particular the training would be of benefit to:
- Clergy who want to develop their coaching skills.
- Psychologists, Consultants and Counselors.
who are also clergy or who work with clergy and churches.
- Leaders who coach or mentor staff and volunteers.
- Psychologists, Counselors and Coaches
who want to work as Life Coaches.
- Coaches who want to work in the business world in a way that honors their values and spirituality.
